A new student comes to the Duel Academy. This new student is to share a room with Judai, Sho, and Hayato, and is uncommonly pretty for a boy... Also, he seems to have an uncanny interest in Sho's brother, Marufuji Ryo, the Kaiser of the school...

Of course, this person is Saotome Rei. Right off the bat, you know something's wrong with Rei. Rei blushes when looking or thinking about Kaiser, refuses to bathe with the other guys, and literally covers his face with embarrassment when "he" sees Judai take off his shirt. Then Judai catches Rei sneaking into Kaiser's room and snuggling his deck! O.o Talk about a guy with issues. However, when Rei notices Judai and tries to run away, his cap and hair clip falls off to reveal none other than a girl! (Of course you could probably already tell by the layout of this fanlisting. -_-;) Judai is shocked, but too busy trying to convince the Obelisk Blue students that he wasn't a North School spy.

At night, Judai goes out for a talk with Rei, asking why she was in Kaiser's room and why she disguised herself as a boy. She refuses to tell, so Judai suggests having a duel because he feels he can understand people through duels. If she wins, he'll keep her secret.

The duel starts and Rei plays the most adorable monster ever! ^.^ Although Beloved Maiden has a low attack and defense, its special ability lets Rei place Maiden Counters on Judai's monsters, which lets her control them. It looks like Judai's about to lose, when he draws E-Hero Burst Lady and combines it with Burst Return. A few more moves, and he wins it.

Rei falls to her knees. Judai says it was a great duel, but before he goes, perhaps there was something she wanted to tell the person standing behind her... Turns out Kaiser, Asuka, Sho, and Hayato were all watching their duel! Rei blushes and confesses how she snuck out to Duel Academy and dressed as a boy just so she could see him. She hopes that Kaiser would accept her feelings. Kaiser says he can't return her feelings. Rei starts cry. Kaiser then puts her dropped hair clip into her hands and tells her to go home. Judai argues that if she worked really hard and entered Obelisk Blue, couldn't she stay? Then Kaiser says she must return...because she is only in 5th grade! O.O Judai goes HAHH?! He was dueling against an elementary student this whole time?! Rei laughs and copies Judai's famous lines, "Katsa! Tanoshii duel da do ze." Judai also laughs and says oh well, it was fun anyways.

The next morning, Rei leaves on a cruise ship. She says that she will take the admission exam when she graduates. Kaiser notes that he will have graduated by then. As the boat leaves, she cries out, "Wait for me...Judai-sama!!!" Judai goes WHAT?! What's with this sudden "over-friendliness" and change of name? Kaiser says that it seems she has fallen in love with Judai and his duel. He now leaves all responsibility of Rei to him. Judai has no idea what to do. Everyone around him starts to leave. While the sun sets, all he can do is wave sadly at Rei and hope she was kidding...
